Specialist
&
Individually Tailored Sessions

I aim to provide and develop more opportunities for members of the community who, due to social, cultural or financial barriers, may not have the chance to experience the positives associated with yoga. I work with adults, children and families and am particularly interested in using yoga and mindfulness practices as tools to reduce social isolation, promote connection, positive attachment, confidence and shared understanding. These practices also allow individuals and families to develop healthy ways to manage stress and anxiety as well as improve physical health. I have worked jointly with the NHS and third sector organisations to design and deliver trauma informed yoga programmes as well as yoga sessions for those living with dementia. I offer a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment and I love helping people to discover that they have the tools and skills, through movement and breathwork, to better deal with stress and improve their general health and wellbeing. Alongside my wellbeing work, I have over 15 years experience in health and social care and continue to work in frontline mental health services. chair yoga

Community Chair Yoga

Accessible chair yoga brings the practice of yoga and all its benefits to everyone. It’s yoga adapted for the chair, retaining all the qualities and benefits of conscious breathing, purposeful movement and mindful meditation. Chair yoga is ‘infinitely adjustable’. This means that every posture can be done to a level that suits the person.
I currently work with several community groups and organisations delivering chair yoga in the heart of communities. Chair yoga brings people together and is a great way to keep fit and healthy. sound healing care home

Yoga in Care Homes

Through personal experience and research, I am aware that inactivity is common in UK care
homes, leading to poor physical and mental health and a reduced quality of life.
Chair yoga exercises can help residents build strength and balance, reducing the risk of falls. It’s suitable for everyone, including those living with dementia.
I interweave the use of singing bowls and
gentle massage to make sessions a nurturing and personal experience full of connection. I currently teach sessions in care homes  across Lanarkshire.

Yoga For Staff

Stress and burnout within health and social care settings is high, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic. A lack of funding and an overstretched workforce exacerbates this. I have over 15 year’s experience working in mental health social work and am aware of the pressures. Research shows how regular yoga practices for staff can help reduce stress and numerous studies have demonstrated the preventative and curative benefits of yoga on several mental and physical health conditions.
I offer specially tailored programmes for NHS and social care staff. If you or your organisation are interested in hearing more, or wish to organise a session,

family yoga

Kids & Family Yoga

I run regular kids and family yoga workshops. Family
yoga sessions are fun and interactive classes for care givers and kids. We explore movement, yoga poses and breathing techniques in a unique way. There are plenty of props, music and partner yoga
which encourages connection, positive relationships, improved concentration, focus and coordination. These sessions are great to encourage bonding and positive attachment. I deliver individually tailored kids sessions in collaboration with community groups, schools, young carers organisations and nurseries. singing crystal bowls

Sound Meditation

I deliver sound meditation and sound bath sessions using crystal signing bowls. The bowls create a range of sounds and emit a unique energetic vibration. Sound meditation is deeply calming and balancing for body and mind. Sound meditation sessions can be incorporated into any of the activities above or they can be booked as stand alone sessions.
